There is no better way to explore these waters than on the Island Dancer that is perfectly suited for Fiji and the diving itinerary.
We will explore the famous Bligh Waters – a stretch of sea that separates Fiji's 2 main islands of Vanua Levu and Viti Levu. There is a great amount of water moving through this channel, which means there are incredibly nutrient rich waters, especially where the channel narrows.
We can expect visibility of 70'-100' and water temps between 80F and 84F. I think I can live with that! This is also the time of year when surface conditions are their most calm and when liveaboards (that's us) can reach the more remote sites, which may not be possible at other times of the year.
The warmer water can bring about plankton blooms and drop visibility. But,this isn't exactly a bad thing! Plankton blooms attract the big boys like manta rays and whales. Either way – we can't go wrong!
All indoor areas are air-conditioned and each of the guest cabins feature ensuite facilities. The salon has ample space for divers to view their photos and videos or enjoy a movie on the entertainment system. The sundeck features covered and uncovered lounging and if a perfect place to relax with a book (or iPad) during surface intervals!
